Spiral Tribe are legends of the UK free party movement. Formed in 1990, they became notorious for their massive illegal raves and confrontational stance against authority, particularly during the Castlemorton Common Festival in 1992 which led to the Criminal Justice Act.
By the time of this flyer, Spiral Tribe had evolved from illegal raves to more legitimate club bookings, but their “Tekno Attack Team” maintained the raw, uncompromising energy of the free party era. Their sound - hard, fast, distorted techno with acid and industrial influences - was designed to shake sound systems and fill outdoor spaces.
The Arches, Glasgow’s legendary club under Central Station, was one of the few venues that could handle Spiral Tribe’s sonic assault. A Bank Holiday Sunday session with this crew would have been an intense, no-holds-barred techno marathon.
