Model 500 is the legendary techno project of Juan Atkins, one of the Belleville Three who invented Detroit techno alongside Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. Atkins’ work as Model 500 (“No UFO’s,” “Night Drive,” “The Chase”) laid the foundation for techno as we know it.
Rubadub, Glasgow’s iconic electronic music record shop and event promoter, hosting Model 500 would have been a major event. This after-party at The Hole extended the night for the hardcore faithful who wanted to keep the Detroit techno energy flowing into the early morning.
The spare, minimal design of this flyer reflects the understated aesthetic of true techno culture - no frills, just the essential information for those in the know.
